J. Elliott Walthall

Elliott Walthall joined Frohsin & Barger, LLC after beginning his career in a large corporate defense firm where he participated in complex civil trials and arbitrations and handled a wide range of criminal and government regulatory issues. He now focuses his practice on government investigations and whistleblower litigation under the qui tam provisions of the False Claims Act. Mr. Walthall has experience in prosecuting a wide range of FCA cases involving healthcare and defense contracting fraud and recently participated in securing the largest ever FCA recovery against a Medicare hospice provider. Mr. Walthall assisted in obtaining the rare acquittal of a defendant in an Arms Export Control prosecution as well as an unprecedented attorneys’ fee award against the Department of Justice. He has represented pro bono clients in diverse civil and criminal matters including federal habeas challenges. Mr. Walthall was recently named a “Top Attorney” by Birmingham Magazine.
