Ronald R. Brunson

Ron Brunson served as a federal prosecutor in the Northern District of Alabama for 15 years before entering private practice in 2004, where he quickly was recognized by his peers as one of the “Best Lawyers in America.” At the United States Attorney’s Office, Ron attained the status of Senior Litigation Counsel, a title awarded to only a few of the nation’s top line prosecutors, for his lead role in the prosecutions of the district’s most high-profile cases.

Prior to becoming an Assistant United States Attorney, Ron spent 15 years as a Special Agent and criminal investigator with the Internal Revenue Service. Ron is highly experienced in all facets of federal investigations, prosecutions, and defense, particularly complex white collar cases including RICO, bank fraud, accounting fraud, financial actions, and tax fraud.

An adjunct professor of law at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, Ron is frequently quoted as an expert in white collar crime, trial tactics, and strategy. Ron is the only attorney in the Northern District of Alabama to first-chair the successful prosecution of a RICO trial. His highly-publicized prosecution and trial of the perpetrators of a multi-million dollar racketeering scheme to defraud insurance companies through fake corporations, procurement of fraudulent life insurance policies, and solicitation for murder was the subject of a television documentary aired by CourtTV in the United States and The Biography Channel and the Crime & Investigation Network in England.
